Uji Stabilitas Penggunaan Buah Bit (Beta vulgaris L.) Terhadap Kualitas Pewarnaan Sediaan Direct Slide

Direct slide examination is an important laboratory method in the detection and identification of parasitic infections through the analysis of human fecal samples. The direct slide method is an examination of helminthic infections that occur in the digestive tract qualitatively, simply, quickly, easily and with a high degree of accuracy. The use of 2% eosin stain in this examination not only contributes to clearer identification but also affects the stability and quality of the stain. Research on the use of beets as a dye in direct faecal preparations is important to do to identify the potential of natural dyes to provide good coloring quality and maintain stability during the analysis process. This research is an experimental study designed to observe the potential of beets as direct slide staining with 5 treatments namely, beetroot juice, beetroot extract with ethanol, ethyl acetate, and methanol and 2% eosin as a comparison. The results showed that the color that emerged from pure beetroot extract had a better color than other solvents. Conclusion: From the results and discussion it can be concluded that beet juice has good potential to be used as a natural dye for direct slide preparations.
